Anne C. Vila

Anne C. Vila is the Pickard-Bascom Professor of French at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her most recent monograph is Suffering Scholars: Pathologies of the Intellectual in Enlightenment France (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2018). She also edited A Cultural History of the Senses in the Age of Enlightenment (Bloomsbury, 2014) and coedited with Ronan Chalmin a reedition of Samuel-Auguste Tissot, De la santé des gens de lettres (Classiques Garnier, 2018).
