My first book, Liberty or Death, was nominated for the 1995 Cincinnati Prize. Based on the same research, I have written two young adult novels about teenagers in the Revolution. Their free Teacher Guides are available by writing to me at 140 George Wood Road in Somers, CT 06071.

Patriots won 2nd place for Young Adult Fiction in the 2010 Premier Book Awards contest for books published by small US presses. The sequel, Gone to Meet the British, won 1st place for Best Historical Fiction Novel.

These novels are fast paced, with plots that move along with action, suspense and dialogue -- NOT long, descriptive passages that turn off readers. They include illustrations by Todd Gerlander, of Tolland, CT, a commercial artist and reenactor. They have proven to be perfect for middle and high schools.
