David A. Waples

David A. Waples (1958- ) was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and is the author of both nonfiction and fiction works. Waples is a corporate communications manager for a natural gas utility and teaches communications at Penn State Erie/The Behrend College. He began his professional career as a broadcast journalist for an all-news radio station in Buffalo, N.Y., and is a recipient of journalism awards from the United Press International and National Public Radio, and public relations honors from the International Association of Business Communicators. He has a degree in Journalism from Utica College of Syracuse University and a graduate degree in Communication from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, selected Outstanding Graduate Student in Speech and Communication Studies.
