Biography – John A. Wood
From the start, there is evidence of John’s business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit: from collecting and selling flowers at the age of five to running a comic-book exchange at 11. Then, aged 19, he transformed a run-down delicatessen into Perth’s best.
At 22, renovating an old caravan on his parents’ driveway, he pioneered and cultivated Fleetwood Corporation Ltd, the largest and most successful, diversified recreational vehicle group of its type in Australia. Its diversified activities included manufacture, importing and distribution, wholesaling and retailing, franchising, insurance broking and caravan parks.
He retired at 48, subsequently trained for six years in the work that inspires what he does to-day – helping people see and understand the genesis of Possibility.
Those he has helped over the past three decades range from down and out unemployed to senior executives at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and all strata of individuals and organisations in between.
Along the way, John founded the Philosophy of Living Centre Perth – the first coaching, counselling and training organisation of its kind outside North America – and grew it successfully for 14 years and once more retired to take on new challenges.
