Jacqueline Byrd

Jacqueline Byrd, Ph.D., was born in Florida, lived in Connecticut and landed in Minnesota, and married a Californian! She is an eclectic! She graduated from the University of Minnesota after attending a now defunct women's college with a Degree in English Literature and then proceeded to get her MA and Ph.D. in Management. She has a passion for innovation--not design or techniques but people. She believes that people have more in them to give than they currently are and organizations need to be more open to creating cultures that foster innovation. Those that don't are left behind.

Dr. B, as her students at St. Catherine University call her, teaches Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management. She has run a company called Creatrix Inc for the past 20 years. She was a co-developer of the Creatrix Innovation Assessment with her father, Dr. Richard Byrd, --www.creatrix.com. She defined innovation early on as The Innovation Equation-Creativity * Risk Taking and continues to make her mark in this arena.

Jacqueline is mother to 3 amazing young women and a Medical Device CEO--the conversations at the dinner table have always been interesting.
