Bertha M. Davis

Bertha M. Davis was born in Webb, Mississippi, to African American parents, grew up in the Mississippi Delta and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1965. For 33 years she has been a volunteer in the Prison Ministry and has done counseling to inmates and encouraged them to be the best they can be as citizens. Her first book, "Growing Up In Mississippi," won the Best Book Award, Reviewers Choice Award, The five Stars YOUnity Reviewers Award, the 2009 Indie Excellence Finalist Award, and numerous of reviews including C-Span Book T.V. Her Audio Book can be view on You-tube in C-Span Library.
