David R. Lipton

David Lipton has a broad and wide-ranging knowledge of economics, finance, philosophy and history. With an education both formal and self-taught, he has diverse work experience as an investment advisor, commercial mediator, and expert witness in securities disputes.

BIOGRAPHY

After earning a B.A.(History) in New York, an M.A. in England (Comparative Literature) and Ph.D (History) in Toronto, he moved into banking and then into the investment business. After working in the investment field for 17 years, he started an export business, and taught at the MBA program of the Schulich School of Business, York University. Several years later he sold his share in the business and became a mediator and expert witness in securities litigation. His published work examines philosophical, historical and mediation issues.

He is a father of four grown children and has five grandchildren.
