Joseph Fernandez

Joseph Fernandez is the author of the pioneering title Corporate Communications: A 21st Century Primer (Sage Publications, 2004). His Corporate Communications book is showcased at the US Library of Congress, Harvard University, Oxford University and 1512 university libraries around the world. He has authored 25 books, created 50 websites and directed over 100 films.

He is an author and communications leader with 30+ years of work experience. Joseph helps people, communities, organizations and nation states to transform themselves through communication initiatives that deliver transformative results around the world.

After completing his schooling at Don Bosco Egmore, Chennai, Joseph completed his Bachelor of Commerce from Loyola College and Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communications at Madras Christian College. He holds a Masters Degree in Journalism & Media Studies from Cardiff University, UK. In addition to serving as faculty at kanthari institute since 2009, Joseph has taught communication masterclasses at colleges and organizations in India, US, UK, Singapore and Vietnam.

Joseph has worked in the fields of media and communications since 1990—honing his craft ever since. In 1998, Joseph founded Median Communications, one of India’s first pure-play corporate communications firms. He has served as Founder-Editor of www.Automeet.com, India’s first automobile portal and later as Editor of Business Mandate magazine (MMA). Since 2006, Joseph has worked on IT communications projects for global companies including two Fortune 50 retail leaders in the US. For close to a decade, Joseph served as first Head of Corporate Communications for UST Global and then took on marketing roles in retail, healthcare and digital transformation.
