Lucinda M. Becker

I am Professor at the University of Reading and an Advance HE National Teaching Fellow. In all I do, from creating new courses for undergraduates and postgraduates, to leading my university's School of Literature and Language Foundation Year, I am a proven, award-winning teacher, with an utter dedication to creating inspirational spaces for learning.

One student reflected that ‘She uses her personal experiences/achievements to connect to new classes and as such, her passion for the subject shines through. Never before has a lecturer put so much confidence in my abilities…she is an inspiration’ and a colleague recently commented: ‘Dr Becker is a human dynamo…with considerable pedagogic expertise’.

My work as a professional trainer and communications consultant, devising and developing courses in the UK and Europe for engineers, scientists and lawyers, has allowed me to study the graduate attributes and skills of professionals from a variety of educational and cultural backgrounds; this has given me an insight into preparing undergraduates for a competitive career market.

My life is dedicated to creating independent learners who are confident in themselves intellectually, professionally and personally.
