In 2000, I was in the throes of a difficult stepfamily situation. Disillusioned, frustrated, sometimes even angry--I wanted to know how to fix it all, have peace, have fun, and succeed as a stepmom.
At the same time, I was in seminary, learning about counseling and communication. The seminary courses--many of them--helped me get a Biblical perspective on my stepfamily life and dynamics. Have you ever noticed how many stepfamilies and dysfunctional families there are in Scripture, and how God used them in working out His plan?
That's when I decided to write about my experiences and try to help others navigating the same treacherous waters.
Since then, interpersonal communications has been a passion for me, and I am now beginning to develop my own blog: A Gentle Answer. In A Gentle Answer, I hope to offer stories, insights, and some practical steps toward better communication that lead to stronger relationships. Check it out!
