Douglas W. Knighton

Douglas Knighton served as a reserve and active duty chaplain in the United States Air Force from 1983–2008. Before that he was an Airborne, Ranger qualified Armor officer from 1969–75. As an active participant in military conflicts during this time, he demonstrated a remarkable ability to address Scripture to the spiritual needs of his comrades in arms. In 2007 the first collection of these expositions was published as “Promises for the Battle.” He continues to add to this collection on his blog site: www.promisesforthebattle.com. He is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary and an ordained minister in the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC). Besides his primary ministry as a military chaplain, he worked in a variety of ministries throughout his career, including ten years as a pastor to medical students and doctors associated with the Christian Medical & Dental Associations. Chaplain Knighton has been married to Maja for 40 years.
