Tina Lassen is a freelance travel writer with an emphasis on outdoor recreation. She is the author of National Geographic’s Guide to America’s Outdoors: Great Lakes and Moon Handbooks Michigan (1st and 2nd editions), and has contributed to several other travel guides, including 1,000 Places to See Before You Die in the U.S. and Canada, and National Geographic’s Guide to Weekend Getaways: 77 Mini-Vacations Across America. Tina also has written hundreds of stories for travel magazines and websites, including SmarterTravel, Endless Vacation, Travel & Leisure, USA Today GoEscape, Travel Oregon, Alaska Airlines Magazine and Midwest Living. She’s currently at work on a guidebook about the best places to see wildlife in North America. A native of the Midwest, Tina happily lives, writes and recreates in Hood River, Oregon.
