Scott R. Mertie

Scott R. Mertie was born and raised in Ohio and has been living in Tennessee since 1992. His interest in the brewing industry started when he began picking up beer cans from the side of the road at the age of six. While in college at The Ohio State University, his interest in the beer industry expanded to home brewing and the craft beer-beer revolution.

Scott wrote his first book, "Nashville Brewing" (Acadia Publishing), in 2006. His second book, "PARTY CANS: The Office Guide to Party-Size Beer Cans" was released in 2015.

In 2016, Mertie resurrected the Nashville Brewing Company, which originally operated from 1859-1890. NBC focuses on traditional European lagers that were brewed by immigrants in the late 1800's. Since reviving the brewery, NBC has won numerous awards, including at the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup.
