Stacey M. Robertson

Stacey M. Robertson grew up on the West coast, earning a Ph.D. in History at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is the Oglesby Professor of American Heritage and the Director of Women's Studies at Bradley University, where she has taught for two decades. She is the author of four books, "Betsy Mix Cowles," "Parker Pillsbury," "Hearts Beating for Liberty," and "Antebellum Women" (co-authored with Carol Lasser), and has presented over 100 lectures at national and international venues. A passionate advocate of the modern-day antislavery movement, she is co-director of Historians Against Slavery (historiansagainstslavery.org). She won the Samuel Rothberg Professional Excellence Award in 2011, the Charles M. Putnam Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2008, and numerous national fellowships.
