Peter Lawrence

Peter Lawrence has been a professional writer since he was 20. Writing solo, his books include 'Fishing For Crocodiles' (now in a 3rd edition: 'Fishing For Crocodiles III') and 'Smoke and Dust;' and written for children and the adults who read to them 'Roly Tells His Story' and 'Shandy Tells Her Story' - illustrated more or less true-life stories about two small dogs in Africa and England.

Writing with long time collaborator Chris Trengove, his books include 'It's Your Money, Dear. Not Mine In Yours' and 'Engulfed In A Tide Of Filth.' These first two books, written when they were in their early 20s, were published by the late great Quartet Books, crossed a lot of lines and caused some furore. Later, Peter and Chris combined to write the 'Frankenstein Vigilante' trilogy; 'Flash Chord'; 'The London Chronicles' (a compendium of three books which adds 'The Mao Tse Tung Workers Revolutionary Striptease Emporium' to 'It's Your Money' and 'Engulfed'); 'Blood, Fangs and Claws' (a compendium of three horror stories including the infamous 'Blood Ranch,' based on their original screenplay); and 'Full Moon,' a perennial seller based on the fantastical life of Who drummer Keith Moon).

Peter Lawrence has written, produced and/or story edited several iconic television shows, including 'ThunderCats,' SilverHawks,' 'The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest,' and 'Fox's Peter Pan & The Pirates.'  He has worked in TV and movie development for independent producers and studios in Europe and the USA. He has written 20-odd screenplays spec. or under commission. Some optioned, some produced. About these experiences Peter writes: "As someone smarter than I remarked 'Screenplays are not written; they're re-written.' But, no complaints, writing is my passion and I've been lucky enough to make a living out of it from the start."

He lives between New Orleans and Colombia. He has one daughter, Olivia, living in England.

He realizes that he knows less now than he ever did as a teenager and is shocked to find that some of his and Chris's most outrageous, satirical flights of fancy have passed from fiction to fact. Absurdism as reality.
