David Cavill

David Cavill has been writing about dogs and companion animals for almost forty years. During this time he has been involved in the selection, care and training of both pedigree and mongrel dogs. He is well known internationally as a judge of show dogs and was a senior manager at the Dogs Home Battersea between 1988 and 1999. He founded the Animal Care College in 1980 and he has been active politically both within the canine world and with it’s relationships with charities, NGOs, government and local authorities. He is currently Chairman of the Pet Care Trust, the Pet Education, Training and Behaviour Council and Southern Counties Canine Association - one of the UK's major championship dog shows.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a Fellow of the Institure of Directors, a member of the Kennel Club, the Savage Club and the English Speaking Union.
