John Lusk

Grew up in Austin, Texas and attended Westlake High School. Played semi-pro soccer while attending SMU. Worked at Ernst & Young as a consultant before going to Wharton, where I majored in Entrepreneurial Marketing. Starting Platinum Concepts, Inc. with Kyle Harrison with help from our professor, Len Lodish. We started the company in San Francisco.

Kyle and I chronicled our experiences bootstrapping a consumer product company with credit cards and kept people updated via a monthly newsletter. The newsletter ended up turning into a book that's now required reading in a number of universities around the world. For us, starting a company was all about the experience. It was about living life to the fullest and actually making an attempt to turn our dreams into reality.

I'm now the Founder and CEO of Rivet & Sway, an ecommerce company that sells prescription eyewear to women. And I still write, primarily through my blog at www.johnlusk.net.
