Carol Moog

Carol Moog, PhD, is a practicing psychologist, musician and author. Specializing in working with individuals on the autism spectrum, she was the clinical director of the Social Learning Disorders Program at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to having been The Miquon School’s psychologist for over 40 years, Carol was an artist-in-residence at Green Tree School and a consultant to the Social Competency Program at the Center for Autism, where she created theater-based social skills programs for teens.

Carol is a member of Tongue and Groove Spontaneous Theater and part of the cast of G-Town Radio, voicing vintage radio shows on a regular basis. A professional musician, she currently plays jazz and blues harmonica in bands and trios.

In addition to the New Harbinger book The Autism Playbook for Teens, Carol is the author of the William Morrow-published book, “Are They Selling Her Lips?” Advertising and Identity. Her chapter “Ad Images and the Stunting of Sexuality” appears in Language, Media and Mind, edited by Roy F. Fox, and she's published in numerous advertising and marketing communications journals. Carol has been interviewed by sources such as The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Newsweek, and The Philadelphia Inquirer and has enjoyed guest media appearances such as National Public Radio with Terry Gross, the Today Show, and Good Morning America.
