David A. Wisner

I'm a third-generation New Yorker who has made his home abroad in Paris and the Northern Greek city of Thessaloniki.

I started my career as an author writing in academic journals on subjects ranging from the French Revolution, to neo-idealist epistemology, to neo-classical art. My first book was a monograph published in the series Studies on Voltaire and the Eighteenth Century (Oxford).

As Executive Director of the Michael and Kitty Dukakis Center for Public and Humanitarian Service (http://dukakis-center.act.edu/) I have written a lot on civic education, public policy, and US involvement in Southeast Europe. I currently manage the blog Politis (http://politis-dukakis-center.act.edu/), and am about to launch a weekly amateur radio program dedicated to public service initiatives in Northern Greece.

I am an avid reader of Continental European literature, but spend most of my time these days reading about international politics.
