Donna Minkowitz

Donna Minkowitz is the author of the novel DONNAVILLE, and the memoirs GROWING

UP GOLEM and FEROCIOUS ROMANCE.

FEROCIOUS ROMANCE won a Lambda Literary Award, and GROWING UP GOLEM was

shortlisted for a Lambda Literary Award and the Publishing Triangle’s Judy Grahn

Nonfiction Award. Chills at Will called DONNAVILLE “a master class in

worldbuilding,” and said, “Minkowitz handles her characters deftly, with vivid

imagination.”

A former writer on queer politics and culture for the Village Voice, she has

also written for Slate, the New York Times Book Review, The Nation, New York

magazine, Ms., and elsewhere. She is the recipient of a GLAAD Media Award and an

Exceptional Merit Media Award, and an NLGJA Award for Outstanding Journalism.

She lives in the Hudson Valley of New York State.
