COLIN P. SISSON

Colin Sisson was born in Levin, New Zealand in 1946. He often said that his life journey really began on the battlefields of Vietnam as an infantry soldier. Here, he crammed in a lifetime of experience in 6 months. But he met the downside of humanity in its basic urge for survival that is found in any extreme situation. Despite the anguish and the agony that is found in men and women who face life and death situations daily, there was a positive experience to be found, the incredible journey of self-discovery. One of his discoveries was that no lasting solution is ever found through conflict unless a person can connect with his/her inner ‘truth.’

On returning to New Zealand, mentally and emotionally traumatized, he took an interest in psychology to continue the search for himself, having glimpsed it through the terrors of close quarter-combat that is synonymous with jungle warfare. In 1980, he was introduced to the Qabalah and breathing techniques, which were to transform his life. Over the following years, Colin discovered that the healing of emotional trauma itself was the gift of self-discovery and began sharing his discoveries with other traumatized people. This led him to realise that almost everyone is carrying unresolved trauma locked up in the subconscious mind from painful early life experiences. From here, he found himself in the role of a seminar leader to pass on his discoveries. Becoming the founder of Breath Integration and co-founder of Integrative Presence led him to write ten books, to express his insights. He is internationally known as a speaker and writer in the United States, Poland, Russia, Britain, New Zealand, and Australia.

A recipient of the Queen's Commendation for Brave Conduct, a civilian award, for rescuing a woman trapped in a blazing vehicle at the scene of a motor accident. Colin continues to learn and share his knowledge with others through his writings on healing and personal development.
