Ann Ward

Ann Ward is Associate Professor of Philosophy and Political Science at Campion College, University of Regina in Canada. Her BA (Hons.) is from the University of Toronto, her MA is from Brock University, and she received her PhD in Political Science from Fordham University in New York City. She has taught at Converse College, Kenyon College, Ashland University and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her research interests are the ancient historians, ancient political philosophy, late modern and 19th century political thought, and feminist philosophy. She is the author of Herodotus and the Philosophy of Empire (Baylor, 2008), and she has edited Matter and Form: From Natural Science to Political Philosophy (Lexington, 2009), and Socrates: Reason or Unreason as the Foundation of European Identity (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2007). Ann has also co-edited with Lee Ward the Ashgate Research Companion to Federalism (Ashgate, 2009), and is currently co-editing with Lee Ward Natural Right and Political Philosophy: Essays in Honor of Catherine Zuckert and Michael Zuckert (Notre Dame). She has published book chapters and articles on Herodotus, Plato, Aristotle, Montesquieu and Kierkegaard that have appeared in Polity, European Journal of Political Theory, Canadian Political Science Review, thirdspace: a journal of feminist theory and culture, and The European Legacy: Toward New Paradigms. She is also an Advisory Board Editor for The European Legacy: Toward New Paradigms.
