George Culling, author of Pritchard's Paranoia, was an Air Navigator in a Lancaster during the Second World War. Entering teaching under the Emergency Training Scheme,he studied the piano up to Diploma standard; then read for an external degree - BSc.(Econ)of London University - followed by an M.A. He then spent a year at the Institute of Education there, leading to a Diploma in Child Development. He was successively a Headmaster, Principal Lecturer in Education in a Polytechnic and Director of the Schools and Teacher Training Dept. of the British Council. After four years in India, helping to administer British Govt. aid to Indian education, he became Director of the Council's Courses Dept. which planned high-level international seminars in a variety of subjects.
Following his retirement, George tutored undergraduates and post-graduates, and examined for the Open University. He also taught the piano to students of all ages.
He and his wife Maureen, who live in the village of Fulbourn, have three sons.
His hobbies include playing the piano, gardening, writing, reading and walking.
