Marilyn B. Peterson

Marilyn B. Peterson has enjoyed over 35 years working in law enforcement intelligence analysis in the Mid-Atlantic region. She began a an analyst and communication specialist for the Pennsylvania Crime Commission in 1980, as chief writer of A Decade of Organized Crime The 1980 Report. She was also a writer in the Crime Commission's 1990 Report, A Decade of Change. She was Senior Analyst for MAGLOCLEN n 1981 and rose to Administrative and Technical Service Manager, in charge of the analytic, database, financial, and training functions. In 1987, she moved to the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice Narcotics Task Force responsible for statewide law enforcement narcotics and intelligence training. She later was assigned to provide analytic support to the Securities Fraud, Medicaid Fraud and Money Laundering units. She left New Jersey in 2006 to work for the Department of Defense, teaching analysis. She retired from there in 2017. She has written dozens of professional journal articles and was co-editor of Criminal Intelligence Analysis (1990), wrote Applications in Criminal Analysis: A Sourcebook (1994 and 1998pb) and A Guide to the Analysis of Personal and Corporate Bank Records (1996 and 2002), co-edited Intelligence 2000 (2001) and Criminal Intelligence for the 21st Century (2010) and Applications in Intelligence-Led Policing: Theory vs Reality (2018). She now teaches intelligence in universities in the Washington, DC area.
