Corinne Humphrey took a 5-year hiatus from her career as an international flight attendant to pursue a more creative life. She started taking painting classes and also adopted Rudy from the local Utah Friends of Animals adoption center (www.foautah.org). Rudy became her muse and constant companion, and Corinne began a series of paintings of him, eventually self-publishing their first book, The Tao of Rudy in December 2007. The Tao of Rudy won Independent Publisher's "IPPY" Award in 2008 for "Most Outstanding Book Design" and also Foreword Connections' "Honorable Mention" for Book of the Year in 2009. Chronicle Books (www.chroniclebooks.com) published the sequel, SHOOT FOR THE MOON, Lessons on Life from a Dog Named Rudy, winner of the 2012 Gelette-Burgess Award in the Inspirational/Motivational category. "Rudy continues to inspire me," says Corinne, "and it makes me wonder, 'Who Rescued Who?'"
