Patrick Cosgrove arrived in California as a graduate student in Film and Television Studies and was soon afterward accepted as a Trainee into the Directors Guild of America. For seven years he was an Assistant Director in the Hollywood studio system on such films as "Xanadu," "Brainstorm," "The Goonies," and "Top Gun," and has been apologizing for "Howard the Duck" since 1986. He left the film industry to be the parent at home for his two sons while continuing to write screenplays and fiction. He eventually became a public high school teacher and has taught American Literature, Studio Art, Photography, and Film Studies, and now lives in the Sacramento area where he continues his writing, painting, and photography.
