Bill Richardson

Bill Richardson has been Professor of Spanish at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and Head of the Department of Spanish since 2005. He was formerly Head of Spanish (from 1986) and Head of the School of Applied Language and Intercultural Studies (from 2000) at Dublin City University, after starting his career as a teacher of Spanish and English in a secondary school in Dublin, Ireland. He researches a wide range of topics in language, culture and literature, and is especially interested in the linguistic topic of deixis, and related issues in pragmatics and discourse analysis; modern Spanish culture and society; Latin American narrative, and the works of the Argentinian writer Jorge Luis Borges.
