Stephen A. Nimis

I recently retired from Miami University of Ohio, where I taught Greek and Latin language and literature for over 30 years. I am now Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the American University in Cairo. While at Miami I teamed up with my student Evan Hayes to begin producing intermediate readers in Greek and Latin. Our readers aim to provide those who have had a survey of Latin or Greek grammar with texts that they can work through on their own. The text, glosses and grammatical commentary are provided on each page in a format designed to make it easy for readers. These texts, most of them not common in the current curriculum, are also suitable for class use, where instructors can provide more detailed literary and historical commentary--these have been kept to a minimum in our texts.
