Nick Barlay is the author of three widely acclaimed novels, Curvy Lovebox, Crumple Zone and Hooky Gear, which mapped London's subcultures. He was mentioned in Granta's 'Best of Young British Novelists' in 2003.
His fourth novel, La Femme D'un Homme Qui (The Wife of a Man Who), was published in France by Quidam and highly praised as a masterpiece.
He has also written short stories, award-winning radio plays and wide-ranging journalism for newspapers and magazines.
'Scattered Ghosts', published by I.B.Tauris in 2013, is his first non-fiction work. It explores the 200-year history of his Hungarian Jewish family and was longlisted for the Wingate Prize 2015.
He regularly teaches fiction and non-fiction, including Guardian Masterclasses on writing family history.
