Daniel Peddle

Daniel Peddle is an artist, author, and filmmaker whose work blends visual storytelling with an intimate sense of character and place. His publishing career began with Snow Day, a wordless book he created at fifteen years old. Published years later — after a chance encounter with a Random House editor on the subway while Daniel was a graduate film student at New York University— this formative moment affirmed his belief in the power of storytelling.

Daniel has written and directed six award-winning feature films, both documentary and narrative. He also has a long career in casting, where he has discovered hundreds of models and actors — including Jennifer Lawrence — through his instinctive eye for authenticity.

Raised in rural North Carolina, Daniel grew up exploring the woods, an early connection to nature that continues to shape his vision. Though he works across disciplines, each project informs the next, united by a commitment to revealing the universalities of the human experience. This interconnected practice is grounded in a child-like curiosity and a deep respect for all life.
