Chris Mullen

Chris Mullen is an accomplished author, award-winning teacher, and graduate of Texas A&M University. He released five books in his contemporary western mystery series, the CASS CALLAHAN novels, with Wolfpack Publishing in 2024 and 2025, and has published seven titles in his award-winning ROWDY series with Wise Wolf Books, including his most recent release in January 2026. In 2025, he also released THE RECKONING OF MEN, the western horror short story RIDERS OF THE BLACK, and Rowdy: WILD AND MEAN, SHARP AND KEEN on audio through Blackstone Publishing.

Chris spent twenty-three years in education, teaching both Kindergarten and Pre-K. In 2019, he was awarded the Connie Wootton Excellence in Teaching Award from the Southwest Association of Episcopal Schools. He retired from Calvary Episcopal Preparatory in Richmond, Texas, in 2020 to write full-time.

His recent honors include two 2026 Will Rogers Medallion Awards: DARKNESS RISING for Western Mystery and THE RECKONING OF MEN for Traditional Western. RESCUE, the fourth book in the ROWDY series, and RETURN, book six, were both named 2024 Will Rogers Silver Medallion winners, while DEAD OR ALIVE, book three, earned a 2023 Will Rogers Bronze Medallion.

Chris is also a 2021 AAU Taekwondo National Champion. He is married and has two grown sons.
