Dan M. Cable

Dan Cable was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, attended the Pennsylvania State University for Psychology, and took his MS and PhD from Cornell University . In terms of work, he has bagged groceries, set clay pigeons, did paste-up ads for a newspaper, cut grass for a water authority, and sold toner cartridges. He currently is Professor of Organisational Behavior at London Business School, writing and teaching about work, specifically employee engagement, leading change, organizational culture and its effects on sustained competitive advantage. Dan also is very interested in leadership development and mindset, and the linkage between brands and employee behaviors. Dan has published two edited books and more than 50 articles on culture and cultural fit, careers, and management in academic journals. In 2014 and 2012, Dan won the “Best article in Organizational Behavior” from the Academy of Management, and the Academy of Management Perspectives ranked Dan one of the top 25 most influential management scholars. Dan has worked with a broad range of organizations ranging from high-tech startups to Fortune 500 firms to the World Economic Forum.
