Peter Vandevanter

Peter Vandevanter is a career journalist who after Princeton in 1973, began as a reporter for a local Virginia newspaper and eventually became vice president of a major national media company.

Throughout the years, Peter has written for many magazines especially about parenting, travel and architecture.

During his illustrious career, Peter traveled the world and then retired to his beloved Washington to write detective novels and enjoy every day with Jan, his wife of 38 years.

His first book, Retirement Communities, published in 1991, was written for his mother who before she passed promptly ignored the content and chose to stay in her home in Leesburg, Va.

He has since written three fiction novels: his first "Brutal Hearts" remains hidden from public; his second, "Slaves of Hope" and third, "Tyrant Terror" have been published by Amazon.

He is now working on his fifth book, whose main character is a Washington detective named Esme MacDonald who has morphed male and female, since her birth on the Santa Maria in 1492.

He blogs regularly as Globalister (at Blogspot.com), a big advocate of home exchange with friends around the world.
