Timothy Geiger

Timothy Geiger is the author of three full-length collections of poetry, "Weatherbox," winner of the Vern Rutsala Poetry Prize from Cloudbank Books in 2019, “The Curse of Pheromones,” (Main Street Rag Press, 2008) and “Blue Light Factory,” (Spoon River Poetry Press, 1999) and nine chapbooks. His work has been widely published in such venues as Poetry, America, New Delta Review, Quarterly West, Black Warrior Review and Mid-American Review. He is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize XVIII and a Holt, Rinehart and Winston Award in Literature as well as many state and local grants in Alabama, Minnesota, and Ohio.

He is also a fine-printer and the proprietor of the Aureole Press, a letterpress imprint established in 1989, devoted to crafting handmade books and broadsides of serious contemporary poetry by both new and acclaimed authors in finely printed limited editions. The press’s books and broadsides are housed in many significant special collections.

Since 1997 the Aureole Press has been housed at the University of Toledo where Mr. Geiger is a professor of English. He teaches Creative Writing, Poetry, and courses in Letterpress Printing and Book Design. He lives in Ottawa Hills, Ohio with his wife and son.
