Mollee Kruger

Mollee Kruger, the author of seven collections of light verse, has received numerous national and regional awards for serious, humorous, and inspirational poetry, essays, and short stories.

Poems from Ladies First: Rhymes and Times of the Presidents’ Wives and Other Female Fantasies were set to music by composer Winifred Hyson and became the basis of a popular musical production.

Her syndicated weekly column of topical verse, “Unholy Writ”, ran twenty years in The Jewish Week in New York and Washington as well as Minneapolis, North Carolina, and Texas. Her articles and verse have appeared in The Washington Post, Modern Maturity, Maryland Life, The Baltimore Sun, The Pen Woman, Chesapeake, Carousel, and regional newspapers. In 2003 the University of Maryland, her alma mater, honored her for lifetime achievement and has included her papers in their holdings of literary manuscripts.
