Mohammad A. Tarbush

Mohammad Tarbush was educated at the Universities of Durham, University College London and Oxford. He authored The Role of the in Politics, (A case study of Iraq to 1941), and Reflections of a Palestinian. He also published numerous articles in The International Herald Tribune, Le Monde, The Los Angeles Times, and other publications.

As a banker, He held senior executive positions at Deutsche Bank and UBS.

For over thirty years he was the chairman of the Board of Trustees of UPA, a four-star rated Palestinian charity based in Washington DC. Currently, he is a freelance political and financial analyst and President of the Swiss Ombudsman Association for Palestine.

Dr Tarbush is now writing a new book that will contain a critical review of the events that shaped the history of the Middle East over the last hundred years, with a special focus on Israel and Palestine. The manuscript will be sprinkled with biographical anecdotes and vivid description of his adventure as a teenager with only a handful of US dollars in his pocket when he hitchhiked from Palestine to Europe in pursuit of university education. Transforming that unrealistic ambition into reality entailed undertaking all kinds of manual jobs supplemented by imaginative schemes that enabled him to meet a King and a President and persuade them to subsidize the cost of his education.

This forthcoming book will be useful to students of all levels as well as to diplomats and the general public.
