David Dayton

David Dayton retired in 2019 from a 30-year patchwork career in academia and government. The common thread was always writing, editing, and teaching. He has revived an earlier career as a poet and publisher of Alembic Press. The first fruits are this second collection of poems and a forthcoming novel, Wideman’s Gospel. His first poetry book, The Lost Body of Childhood, is available as an e-book on Google Play Books and used copies can sometimes be found here and at other online bookstores specializing in used books.

David's current writing project is a family history and memoir whose working title is Chaplain’s Kid. You can follow his writing at daviddayton.medium.com.
