Tom Haley(1952)was born in Texarkana, Texas and lived in Texarkana, Arkansas. A famous postcard shows a man standing on the Arkansas side and his donkey in Texas. The caption read "Here's a man in Arkansas with his posterior in Texas."
He wasn't that fond of English classes in school. His teachers were amazed when he wrote three books.
The first book, "Anchors in the Storm", a collection of original quotes, was written while a student at Hendrix College. At that time, he was fasting during Lent. The second, "Prayers with Wings" is a group of original prayers prayed his first years as a United Methodist minister. His third book,"Haley's Comments: A View of Life from Across the Street," was about 100 newspaper columns written while he was an award-winning newspaper columnist for the Benton Courier.
Tom is the pastor of Rock Hill Christian Church, a growing community of faith, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He currently lives in Hot Springs, Arkansas with his wife, Amanda, two dogs and two cats. He says of his wife, "I'm married to the Mother Teresa of Stray and Lost Animals. If she could she would rescue every stray animal."
