Taylor Hay

E.H. Taylor Hay Jr. was born February 11, 1930 in San Diego, California. Amazingly Taylor says that he feels much better today at eighty-five than he did forty years ago! He also says he measures himself by the examples of courage and dedication set by his ancestors who were high achievers in war, politics and industry.

And does his best to inspire his children by his example to live healthy, happy, productive lives in the service of others.

After two marriages, eight children and a 30-year career of owning and operating a successful real estate, home construction and land development company in Louisville, Kentucky, his life reached a turning point during the severe recession of the late 1970s.

Taylor’s land development company and home were in foreclosure. He was out of money and still supporting his two ex-wives and eight children with two in college. What Taylor calls divine guidance drove him to an off-season, deserted North Carolina beach where he sat day after day in a shack on stilts rethinking his shattered life.

He wrote countless pages of ideas on how he could reclaim his overweight, overstressed body that he had badly damaged doing conventional exercises so he could regain his strength and fight back. But he couldn’t come up with any solutions.

After a week that seemed a lifetime, Taylor laid down to sleep with a lump in his throat and tears in his eyes…discouraged and desperate for guidance, he prayed for help.

In the middle of that night he jumped off his cot, turned on a bare light bulb, stood in front of a little cracked mirror, and began repeating the graceful motions he had just seen himself doing in his dream. His body didn’t hurt! It immediately felt energized and relaxed! He smiled at himself in the mirror and softly said: Thanks, God…

Taylor’s dream in that shack on stilts on a deserted North Carolina beach in the early spring of 1980 is now known as Synergetics and practiced by tens of thousands of people all over the world.

Like Taylor they have reclaimed their health and many of their physical abilities by just doing these gentle motions 12 minutes before breakfast and 12 minutes before bedtime.

Taylor met the love of his life, Joanna, in 1985 and married her in 1987. Together Joanna and Taylor have forged a very successful and innovative path to greater health physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

All this in just 12 minutes of sweatless, gentle Synergetics exercise twice a day totaling only two hours and forty-eight minutes a week? Absolutely!
