I have a passion for dentistry and ancestral nutrition. I am a periodontist (a dentist specializing in the treatment of gum disease) and was in practice for 44 years. For the last seven years of my active practice, I incorporated concepts of ancestral nutrition and lifestyle with my “cutting edge” treatment of gum disease using the periodontal laser.

In September 2018, I was diagnosed with incurable bone marrow cancer and was given only 3-6 months to live. I rejected all chemotherapy and am thriving today.

I now offer virtual consults with clients all over the world regarding animal-based nutrition, lifestyle, oral & overall health, and the importance of a healthy gut and immune system.

But I also have a passion for fun and unusual things.

I’ve been white-water rafting on the Chattooga River where the movie “Deliverance” was filmed in 1972 starring Jon Voight and Burt Reynolds.

I’ve also been hot air ballooning in the mountains of Snowmass in Colorado. If you have never had the experience of floating in a basket attached to the biggest balloon you can imagine, then you have missed one of the exhilarations in life.

While in Colorado, I went fly fishing in the North Platte River. My experience with fly-fishing was quite unusual. The left leg of my “waders” had a hole that allowed freezing river water to seep into it causing numbing of my leg to the point that I lost feeling. What an experience!

My greatest hobbies included performing magic on television in the 1980s and creating abstract black and white photographic images, which were juried at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC in 1989.

Today, I spend a lot of time cooking and creating dishes that are nutritious and delicious. My wife loves my cooking especially since she doesn’t have to clean up. I also love to write. I post my original articles on my website usually once or twice a week. Here is a link to my blogs: https://drdanenberg.com/blog-page/
