Maryle Malloy

Maryle Malloy was born in San Francisco, CA and grew up in northern California. She currently resides in Albuquerque, NM. From a very early age, dogs have been her abiding passion.

Growing up, her family owned several wonderful "shelter dogs." She credits them with helping her navigate the ups and downs of childhood and the teen years. In 1968 she acquired her first AKC registered dog a Gordon Setter puppy named Tonya. In order to keep up with this puppy's high sporting drive, Maryle studied with Field Trainers and campaigned in a number of Field Trials. Through the years she owned several other breeds, notably two Dobermans and her "horse dog," a grand Australian Shephard. In 1989 she acquired her first Golden Retriever and immediately knew this was the perfect dog for her.

Goodtimes Golden Retrievers was founded in 1991 when her foundation bitch, Ch. Quillmark's Spring Fling (Trina) whelped her first litter. Trina was bred twice and produced 15 puppies; (7) champions, (3) multiple Best in Show winners, (2) National Specialty - Winner's Dog and Winner's Bitch and 1997 Best of Breed at Westminster. She bred selectively between 1991 and 2001 producing two litters a year. Exhibiting in AKC conformation, dogs from Goodtimes garnered 25 championships, were used as foundation stock for Guide Dogs of the Desert, participated in search and as therapy dogs, all were outstanding family companions. In addition to earning conformation titles, dogs from her breeding program also competed in hunting tests and obedience events.

In 2004, the Dog Writer's of America awarded her book The Golden Retriever, An Owner's Survival Guide with a coveted literary award.

Maryle is a former AKC Judge for Golden Retrievers and Junior Showmanship. In addition to writing, Maryle is the founder and creative director of Wide Web Advisor, LLC, Branding and Marketing, a boutique agency located in Albuquerque, NM.
