Elizabeth Neff Walker

Elizabeth Neff Walker is the author of thirty novels.

Writing as Laura Matthews, she set most of her early stories in

Regency England. Her more recent books, including The Best

Medicine, take place in the fascinating world of modern

medicine.

With her children now grown, there is more time to spend at

the computer indulging in her special love of writing about the

relationships between women and men. She has also found outlets

for her special research interests in the Jane Austen Society of

North America and by volunteering at the University of California

San Francisco Medical Center.

Ms. Walker has lived in England and enjoys traveling in the

U.S. and abroad, especially for snorkeling. Wherever she goes she indulges her passion for both old books and unique bookstores in her search for research

materials and other literary treasures. She lives in San

Francisco with her architect husband.
