Susan Scott

Susan Scott writes a weekly marine science column for the Honolulu Star-Advertiser and has written seven books about nature in Hawaii. A former registered nurse, she earned a degree in biology from the University of Hawaii in 1985 and is a graduate of the university's Marine Option Program. Susan lectures on subjects based on her marine biology work, and speaks about her annual work in a Bangladesh medical clinic.

Susan has sailed halfway around the world, trekked to Mount Everest base camp, hiked to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro and spend her 50th birthday in Pakistan at the base of K2. Still sailing, hiking, snorkeling and writing, Susan enjoys life in Hawaii with her husband, Craig, and their dog, Lucy.
