G. P. Schultz

G.P. Schultz was born in Longacre, West Virginia, to a coal mining family. He grew up in wild, wonderful West Virginia, where he loved to hunt and fish and play sports. He then served with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii.

His writing career began in mid-life, with the publication of his first novel, "Gully Town". The novel was nominated for the Thorpe Menn Award, and became a regional best-seller. His second novel, "Incident at Simms Center", won that award. He also wrote the best-selling novel, "The Ghost Dancers", and the novel, "The Girl Who loved to Run". His current novel, "The Kennedy Club", is a contemporary novel of politics and romance, and will be published in June of 2011.

He writes fiction, but combines it with years of research, to make his novels historically accurate in time and place. His writing philosophy is that you can't have a compelling story, without a compelling romance. He currently resides in Kansas City.
