C. C. Risenhoover

C.C. Risenhoover, who earned BA and MA degrees at Baylor University, taught journalism at Sam Houston State University, Eastfield College, SMU, Henderson State University and Chemeketa College. He was also an investigative reporter for a major daily and on the corporate staff of what at the time was the largest electronic warfare developer in the U.S. He was editor of five magazines, published more than 1,000 magazine articles and received the Military Order of Foreign Wars Meritorious Service Medal for classified action on the part of the U.S. In 1954, he was the only white player on an otherwise black barnstorming baseball team that played in the South, Southwest, Midwest and Saskatchewan Canada. Adjacent to Highway 90 in his hometown of Jasper, Texas, the state erected a historical marker about the team and Risenhoover, who is best known for his mystery and thriller novels, but he has also produced several Christian and political opinion books.
