Tom Kubistant

Since 1971 I have been one of the modern-day sports psychologists. Since then, I have written five books, over 450 articles, and over 95 radio scripts. More importantly, I have continued to work with a wide variety of athletes and performing artists. This work has morphed into the broader science of the psychology of human performance. This field not only includes athletes, but also performing artists of all kinds, coaches, parents and business people.

Starting in 1981, I have taught college courses on human performance. They have gone through 3 generations. The last generation was from 2004-2015 at Western Nevada College in Carson City. This final generation created many handouts of the psychology of human performance that all performers have successfully used.

Most beneficial to YOU, I know what works for athletes' and performing artists' goals and problems. I work with the whole scope of the psychology of human performance ranging overcoming the yips (and other remedial issues) all the way to peaking for big performances (the developmental issues) as well as integrating your performing into your lifestyle.

November 2020:

Yes, I am still alive and kicking! All the above is still valid. The major point that I would like to add is that there is now a comprehensive SYSTEM of mental training and performing for athletes and performing artists. It is not a hodgepodge of isolated techniques as it was forty--or even 5--years ago. My proven system can still be customized to each individual wherever they are in their training year. One thing flows into another. I work from broad perspectives and principles to general performance strategies all the way to specific techniques and applications.

When I was actively writing, I published over 470 articles on the psychology of human performance in popular magazines as well as refereed journals. So I have probably addressed any issue or concern you might have. I still teach Positive Psychology at Western Nevada College and can be reached there at thomas.kubistant@wnc.edu or at tomkubistant@gmail.com.

Stay healthy, centered, and balanced. Dr. Tom Kubistant, CSP
