Barbara Elmore

Barbara Elmore is a Texas native who grew up the same town as the 36th president of the United States, Lyndon Baines Johnson. She graduated from the same university he attended, Texas State University in San Marcos -- although when he was a student, it went by another name. She followed his path unintentionally but enjoys the history surrounding his life and the areas in which they shared space.

Barbara studied journalism in college, edited the university newspaper, and took a job after college editing copy and writing headlines for a daily newspaper. A reporter, editor and freelance writer, she has written for newspapers, magazines, web sites and newsletters. She has three published books -- two won awards -- and she is writing a historical novel as well as a sequel to her first book for middle-grade readers, Breathing Room.
