Mark Spencer

Mark is the author of A HAUNTED LOVE STORY: THE GHOSTS OF THE ALLEN HOUSE, NEW EDITION (2026), as well as the novels AN UNTIMELY FROST, GHOST WALKING, THE MASKED DEMON, THE WEARY MOTEL, LOVE AND RERUNS IN ADAMS COUNTY, and the original bestselling 2012 edition of A HAUNTED LOVE STORY. He's also the author of the short-story collections WEDLOCK and TRESPASSERS and the history books IMAGES OF AMERICA: MONTICELLO and MONTICELLO: PAST & PRESENT.

His work has received the Faulkner Society Faulkner Award for the Novel, the Omaha Prize for the Novel, the Bradshaw Book Award, the CAIRN/St. Andrews Press Short Story Prize, and four Special Mentions in PUSHCART PRIZE.

He lives in Monticello, Arkansas, with his wife and their children in the famously haunted Allen House.
