Eileen Hoard

Eileen received a BS in Early Elementary Education, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. She taught first and second grade classess as well as co-op preschool for three and four year old children. She helped start and later directed Cross Roads Preschool in Phoenix, Arizona for 6 years. She founded and directed Shadow Rock Preschool in Phoenix, Arizona, over 30 years total experience as a Preschool Director. She was a partner in the first children's bookshop in Phoenix, Arizona, Sunpath Children's Bookshop. Sunpath's reputation was as a valuable resource for librarians, teachers, parents and book lovers is still remembered. There she became a storyteller 25 years ago. When she retired as a Preschool Director she centered on storytelling and wrote the book Everyone's A Storyteller which was published in September 2004. As a director she gave many workshops for preschool and elementary teachers in the Phoenix Area. She continues to present workshops for groups such as staff of the Phoenix Public Library, Head Start Programs and professional staff in major Public School Districts. She has demonstrated that there are a lot of creative ways to tell stories to young children.
