Richard Perez

I've written two novels, had some foreign translations, but it was after this that I discovered my true passion for what might be called cultural archaeology. This tied into my love of collecting and archiving vintage fringe artifacts, most often magazines and books.

My current project is a biography and social history that involves Eric Stanton and his world of underground luminaries (Irving Klaw, Steve Ditko, Bettie Page, Gene Bilbrew, Charles Guyette, Leonard Burtman, Edward Mishkin, Stanley Malkin). I'll be producing some "satellite" projects as well -- material connected to my interests that couldn't be included in the big book.
